We are all made of air. There's stars in my eyes and there's sun in my hair.

It has been a bit of a funny week this past week, full of change and nerves and catching up on jobs around the house. Oh, and watching the Olympics rather a lot! 

I started my new job on Monday which has all been going well. It's such a contrast compared to my old routine where I was in the car commuting for at least 2 hours a day. Now I can hop in the car and be there in 15 - 20 minutes and as I'm doing fewer hours I've had so much more free time (filled with doing loads of washing and hoovering, but hey it's still free time).

I added a couple of new bracelets to my shops yesterday (Etsy here / Bigcartel here). I'll be adding lots more over the next few weeks now that I have more time to work on designs but in the meantime you can have a nosy at these two bracelets: a super tiny gold skull charm on red silk thread, with a gold lobster clasp fastening, and a "lucky star" bracelet which is already available in red but now comes on gold/yellow silk thread too.

I love working with this silk thread. It's very delicate but as I have quite small wrists I'm a big fan of delicate jewellery. I hope you like them. Please pop over to my shops to have a look if you get a spare minute, I'd really appreciate it.

I've been meaning to share a new recipe with you, as last weekend Jonathan and I tried moussaka which I can't recall ever eating before. I think I used to be a bit scared of aubergines, but seemingly not anymore! I made the topping and Jonathan made everything else and it was incredible! It wouldn't all fit in our dish so we made another mini moussaka which I had for lunch the next day. Score! Here's the recipe if you're interested. 

Since I became a vegetarian it has been nice to have the odd vegetarian meal that we can both eat, as opposed to cooking things seperately so that Jonathan can have meat in his. Extra washing up is never a good thing!

Before the topping went on. I suppose you could just eat it like this if you wanted to!

We have been absolutely HOOKED on the Olympics in our house over the past 2 weeks, and there was little old me before it started saying I probably wouldn't watch too much of it as I'm not really a fan of watching sports. 

Next thing I know I'm staying up until 1am to watch the opening ceremony, jumping up and down cheering on Mo Farah, Jessica Ennis and the rest of Team GB, and well and truly getting into the Olympic spirit!

I'm determined to get me some Jessica Ennis abs. I just need to put the biscuit tin down for long enough...

I think the coverage has been fantastic and we have loved watching. It only comes around every 4 years so we have made the most of watching and will be sad when it is all over (although the Paralympics are still to come!)

We're already talking about a trip to Rio in 2016... ;)

Stars & silk string.

After a brief break from running the Lily loves Lola shops on Etsy and bigcartel they're open again and I've added a couple of new things too which I thought I would share with you on here.

I have been playing around with some silk string which I have in red and golden yellow. It makes such a nice change from the cotton cord as it's much more delicate and easier to add fastenings on.

I have added a 'lucky star' bracelet which features 7 tiny star charms and has a lobster clasp fastening. My bracelet measures 16cm in length from end to end and is a perfect fit for my small wrists. If you'd like one of these they're priced at £4.50 each and I can make them to fit your wrists perfectly, just let me know your measurements during the checkout process.

I'm going to have a think about other combinations of string and charms that I can make but if you have any good ideas or suggestions please do let me know.

I also have a few old favourites still on the go, which include the tiny wishbone and tiny cross friendship bracelets. They're only £2.50 each and can either be tied on permanently and worn until the cotton wears away or just tied with a bow which gives you the option to take them off and on as you please.

Is there any colour of cotton or string you think I should stock? Navy blue? Grey? White? I've tried to cover all angles but if there is a colour you'd like to see please let me know.

I'm still making the beaded wishbone bracelets which come in mint green, lilac or pink. I have other coloured beads including smoky grey but I haven't had chance to get them into my shops but they will be there very soon.

Cross stitched designs in my Etsy shop.

I've been busy recently working on designs to stitch and display around our home, and as a few people seemed to like the pictures I've been posting on Instagram I thought it could be cool to sell them via my Etsy shop.

I'm always thinking up new ideas and will be adding more designs as and when they're ready. The majority of additions will be completed stitching in embroidery hoops but I'm also hoping to get a few more patterns added too.

If you like the look of something but you would prefer the design on say, a greetings card or without the hoop so that it can be framed that's fine. Just contact me via Etsy and I'll respond asap.

New in!

First of all I wanted to say a big thank you to those of you who bought something from my shop this year. It has done better than I ever imagined and I'm so pleased that you like my jewellery. It will continue to grow in 2012 - I have lots of ideas of things to make but the hard bit is finding the time to make everything. Perhaps I should give up the day job in order to spend more time making things.. now there's an idea!

Last week I added some new charms - Hello Kitty, a star (slightly bigger than the tiny star I have stocked for a while) and an ever so tiny wing charm. I hope you like them. I personally think the Hello Kitty is adorable and would look great as a set with the cupcake and horseshoe on pink and lilac cotton. I may add some sets very soon, to make buying buy then one bracelet slightly cheaper for you.

Also if you guys have any suggestions for charms then please let me know below. I'm on the look out for some nice bronze and gold charms, but gold ones seem to be like... well, gold dust!

Shop update (Christmas orders & new charms).

Just a quick update to say that any orders as of 5.30pm yesterday onwards will not be guaranteed to arrive before Christmas unfortunately (I updated the shop banner to say so, but I wanted to make sure it had been spotted). This is due to an overwhelming amount of orders which has been fantastic! But I am a busy bee ensuring the orders placed before 5.30 yesterday are all popped in the post before the Royal Mail deadline.

You can still continue to place your orders and they will be dispatched at the soonest possible moment. Cross charms, heart charms and evil eye beads are out of stock at the moment but will be back very soon. New in!

I have had a few questions via my shop asking if I can make scarves in other colours apart from grey. The answer is "yes!" I most certainly can. The other colours are now shown on the listing for the scarf but here's a peek of the different colours if you haven't spotted them over there yet. Here's the mustard colour in full action. I also like the red (bottom row, 2nd from the right) and denim blue (bottom row, 3rd from the left).

Prices start from £18 so please do have a browse if you're looking for cosy knits this Winter!

I have also added some tiny gold kissing couple charms which you can buy as a friendship bracelet on your choice of cotton (red, black, turquoise, light pink or lilac). This charm is adorable and very cute, but you must be quick if you like it because I only have two left and I fear I may not be able to find any more.

I have added some silver glitterball earrings which are handmade by my own fair hands using silver wire and gorgeous sparkly beads of various sizes. I can make the hoops as big or as small as you like or I can use more/less beads - just contact me if you want to ask about this.

Also new in is a single bead friendship bracelet. Choose from a gold or silver bead on any colour cotton. I particularly like the silver bead on lilac or light pink cotton. It looks so pretty yet very simple and dainty.

The silver Eiffel Tower earrings proved popular, I even made a pair for my friend in London and sent them on their merry way, so I decided to stock up and I also added gold Eiffel Tower charms too. The listing does say to allow 2 weeks but at the moment you definitely wouldn't have to wait that long as I have the supplies ready. I love the gold Eiffel Towers with the yellow stars, but the silver/pink hearts is a great combination also.

This post is just a quick update to let you know what's new in my shop. I have added a few things lately plus I'm continuously playing around with new ideas and making new pieces. I added a few new bracelets to my shop this week which I thought I would share with you. I also have a discount code for free shipping on bracelets when you spend over £7.00 so keep reading for that. It's only valid for today so you must get an order in before midnight tonight!

My bracelets can be tied to suit the size of your wrist and the excess cotton can easily be snipped off. There's nothing worse than a bracelet that is too big and falls off (I have quite small wrists and find it hard to wear most bracelets). Or if you'd like to be able to remove them for the shower, etc, there is enough cotton to tie a bow.

The newest charms are tiny silver crosses, tiny silver stars, silver handbags, and blue evil eye beads.

New bracelets in my shop.

My shop has been up and running for a week now and some of you are already proud owners (hopefully!) of one of my little bracelets. You can now choose from red, black or turquoise cotton complete with a peace charm, a wishbone charm, or an initial of your choice (stock permitting of course).

I will post to anywhere in the World and all orders are wrapped up securely within a jiffy bag to make sure they arrive safe and sound. I have kept P&P costs low as if there's one thing I hate it is overpriced P&P charges.

If you like what you see but you fancy 2 initials on one bracelet for example, just drop me an email at the address in the sidebar and we can work something out. If you'd like a slightly longer length of cotton that is fine too, just ask.

The bracelets can be worn on their own or stacked up with other friendship bracelets. I have been wearing a couple of peace charms and a letter 'V' charm for a few weeks now. The cotton is 1mm thick so it looks dainty even on tiny wrists like mine. But it is really hard wearing and will last you a fair while. I have tied my bracelets on with a knot and trimmed the loose ends so that I can wear them permanently, but you could also tie them on with a bow to be able to remove them for bed, the shower, etc.
