Top 5 tearjerkers

After reading Daisy's post inspired by Lou's post I am going to jump on the bandwagon and list my top 5 tearjerker movies. First of all I should probably say EVERYTHING makes me cry. I cry at tv adverts, I cry watching X Factor (when they do the sob story and You Raise Me Up comes on), I cry when I see old people struggling along, and anything to do with cruelty to animals.. you get the picture.

1. The Notebook
This has to be at the top of the list! Not only is it my favourite film, it's the one that makes me cry the most. The first time I watched this I had a day off work and I watched this on my own. As soon as I realised where the story was going I was sobbing/blubbering/roaring/unconsolable! And everytime I have watched it since I've cried from about 30 minutes in.

2. Romeo & Juliet
I saw this at the cinema with my family, and I was crying my eyes out slap bang in the middle of a packed cinema. Not just quietly sobbing, but nose running, sniffling, making noises type crying. And all the way home. And for about 2 hours when I got home.

3. P.S. I Love You
I think this would come high on most people's list! I knew this would upset me but I went ahead and watched it anyway (I took precautions and made sure I was alone!) I had plenty of chuckles though at Gerard Butler's terrible Irish accent!

4. Marley & Me
I haven't technically seen this. On the coach on the way from Miami to Orlando some bright spark of a tour guide decided to put this on. I was not happy. I had purposely not seen it at the cinema so that I could watch it on dvd in the comfort of my own home. But I had no choice so I decided to watch it up until the sad part where I then stuck my fingers in my ears, shut my eyes and hummed. I accidentally heard one snippet of the film and I was off! Crying reeeeally badly, on a full coach. Luckily it was dark.. and I had a tissue.

5. Ghost
The end bit where she sees him = tears central!

I tag anyone who wants to do this!

Barry M wishlist

This is my current wish-list from Barry M. I'm pretty much a newcomer to Barry M products. The only thing I own from the range is a black liquid eyeliner (which I hated). But I have heard so many good things about the other products like the nail polish and lippys and I'm always testing out products but never actually make the purchase!

The website is brill, it has so much more stuff than I have seen in Boots/Superdrug!

Peachy Pink

Dolly Pink

Marshmellow

Limited Edition Pink

Hologram Hexographs

Bright Purple

Also I really want a bright kohl eye pencil.. I'm thinking turquoise or purple. Not for wearing everyday, I just fancy a bit of colour every now and again but I mainly own 'safe' colours. Boring!

What is the last thing you bought from Barry M?

New Look

On Wednesday I met my lovely boyfriend for lunch and he offered to treat me to some clothes for work. My current work trousers have a little hole in the bum so it was definitely time for a new pair :) I usually get my work trousers from Topshop or Primark, depending on the cash flow. But lately I have found Topshop's to be ill fitting and Primark ones tend to lose their shape quite easily.

So I decided to give New Look a try. I hardly ever shop there but I always see nice things (especially shoes) on the website and it is so reasonably priced.

After a few trips in and out of the changing rooms, I got some black trousers with a slight pinstripe. They're a little bit high waisted and they are a perfect fit, so for £22 I was very happy!

I also got a couple of tops in the sale which I will wear for work and with skinny jeans too.

And I spotted this dress and loved the print so I bought that too! Get a better look at it here.

I'm definitely going to shop in New Look more. I'm really impressed with the quality and the prices. I don't normally shop in the sale at all but if I spot a bargain then I'll get it.

Yesterday I picked up some undercrackers from Primark. I needed some girl boxers (I heart big pants) and for £1 and £1.50 a pair you can't go wrong!!

Lee Stafford hair treatment - update

Lee Stafford - For Hair That Never Grows Past A Certain Length
I originally posted about this a week ago and I just wanted to give an update.

I have to wash my hair every morning (otherwise it looks gross), therefore I have used this treatment every morning for just over 1 week.

I REALLY recommend it. It has made my hair feel stronger, silkier and even though I haven't had a trim since January *ashamed* it doesn't look in bad condition. It makes blow drying a lot easier and my hair hardly needs straightening.

Today a few people even asked me if I've had my hair done!

I am definitely going to re-purchase this when it runs out.

20 questions

Ella (http://ellacinderellax.blogspot.com/) has tagged anyone to do this post so here goes!

1. Thing you cannot leave the house without
My to-do lists. I am forever making lists of important reminders, things I need to do and things I need to buy! I'm not a forgetful person at all, it's more an OCD thing! I also carry a big handbag everywhere I go and I can't leave the house without it as it holds my keys, purse, deodorant, perfume, hairbrush, bobbles, kirby grips, mobile phone, 2 x sunglasses (incase I get bored of one pair), some of my post, tissues and a magazine!

2. Favourite brand of makeup
I don't have one main favourite but I do really like Estee Lauder, 17, MAC and Benefit.

3. Favourite flower
Orchids.. which are more of a plant, but they're my fave all the same.

4. Favourite clothing store
Harvey Nichols (for Juicy Couture, sunglasses and scarves), Topshop, Miss Selfridge and Accessorize for jewellery, and Primarni for basics.

5. Favourite perfume
Vera Wang - Princess for the daytime, and Viktor & Rolf - Flowerbomb for the evening.

6. Heels or Flats
For a night out, heels without a doubt! I have to wear the highest shoes possible (I find them easier to walk in than regular sized heels). For work I mainly wear pumps because it's easier when I'm dashing round on my lunchbreak. And for the rest of the time I'm in my faithful Uggs.

7. Do you make good grades
Well it's been a while since I was at school but I did well in my A-levels and I did ok in my GCSE's (could have done better but I was bulled in yr10 and missed a few months of school = missed quite a bit of important stuff *sob*).

8. Favourite colours
Pink, purple, coral, red, and turquoise.

9. Do you drink energy drinks
Not really, unless there's vodka in it :)

10. Do you drink juice
Yes, pretty much every day.

11. Do you like swimming
I suck at swimming but I like to have a little splash on holiday.

12. Do you eat fries with a fork
Nah. Life is too short!

13. Favourite moisturiser
Gorgeous (Lush), or the Lacura day cream by the one and only Aldi.

14. Do you want to get married later on in life
Yes but only if I can have my wedding at Disneyworld Florida with a Disney theme. Oh yess. :)

15. Do you get mad easily
Yes! I'm very easily wound up or cross.

16. Are you into ghost hunting
I am far too much of a wuss for that but I do believe in ghosts.

17. Any phobias
Yes; clowns, and being underwater/drowning.

18. Do you bite your nails
No. Well sometimes the odd one but then I'll file it down after.

19. Have you ever had a near death experience
No *touches wood*

20. Do you drink coffee
Sometimes. If the question was do I drink tea then hell yes! I'm on about 10 cups a day :)

I tag everyone or anyone that would like to do this!

I couldn't resist...

So, I'm fairly impatient and I couldn't wait till payday...

so I got them today! I love them, they're so small and pretty (and a bargain at £5!)

Accessorize had so many nice things. It's officially my favourite place for jewellery at the moment.

Also, today I have been browsing on Etsy which is a great site where people sell lots of handmade things, and I am definitely going to get these 2 rings!

How FAB are they! :) They are by a seller called thelovelyteaspoon and she has some lovely things.

Charity shops & plans for payday

I ventured into town on my lunchbreak yesterday and fancied a change from the obligatory stroll round Superdrug/Boots/River Island/Topshop/Primarni.. etc. So I headed to the PDSA charity shop to have a gander.

I haven't been charity shop shopping since I was about 16 and it was soo much fun! It was only a small shop but they had some really nice things. I spotted 3 Sophie Kinsella books from the Shopaholic series which I have wanted for a while and at £1 per book I had to get all 3!

Then I spotted the trinket section and found so much cool stuff. I ended up buying this cool little house (the lid comes off so I can put little things in it. What little things you ask? I don't know).

I thought it was sweet and only 50p.

The best bit was the little old ladies who worked there! They were so sweet.

I am loving Accessorize jewellery at the moment. My latest buys from there are these 2 bracelets (I especially love the Fatima's hand one) and this butterfly necklace which I love but haven't worn yet.
At the moment they have loads of nice necklaces with little charms on, like the eiffel tower and little tea cups.

Roll on payday on Thursday. I'm going to buy these delightful little earrings:

I love LUSH!

I adore LUSH products and I love visiting their stores as the staff are always so chatty and friendly, without trying to force you into buying things. And of course the products are all great! So I was gutted when I last visited my nearest store and they told me that after that day, they would be closing for 5 weeks to completely renovate the shop and build a spa downstairs!I wanted a face mask and decided on Cosmetic Warrior after the sales assistant tried a couple of different ones on my hand. It claims to combat spots, cleanse dirt and calm and soothe all troubled skin. I don't have terrible skin all the time, but I do suffer from break outs from time to time and I don't like to use anything too harsh.

This particular mask contains fresh green grapes, fresh free range eggs, honey and fresh garlic to name a few! If you don't like garlic I wouldn't recommend trying this as the smell is verrry strong. The first time I used it I was nearly sick but I soon got used to it! :)

I leave it on for 10 minutes then when it has slightly dried on my skin I use a warm flannel to gently wipe it off. I have used it about 3 times now and it leaves my skin feeling lovely and soft, and feeling really clean!

I reckon I still have about 3 or 4 uses left in the pot so for around a fiver it's not bad value. The masks have to be kept in the fridge to keep the fresh ingredients fresh! And there is a use-by date on the pot which I think is quite good.

At the till I was given samples of 2 moisturisers - Gorgeous and Celestial. They are both really good, especially Gorgeous. I'm so impressed with it! I used it one morning under my make-up and at the end of a long day at work my skin was still silky smooth and my make-up still looked freshly applied!

I wish they had never given me a sample... it's £35 a pot!!!

Does anybody else love LUSH?

All by myself

I have got the apartment all to myself this weekend - yay! My bf is doing a charity bike ride from Liverpool to Leeds along the canal so up he got at 5.20am (!!) this morning and I had to drive him there!

After a horrendous drive back from Liverpool through rain that was so bad I couldn't see the cars around me, I went to the hairdressers to get my roots done. I get foils in 2 colours and then a colour inbetween. I love going to my hairdresser; she's lovely and we always have a good natter. Then I proceeded to watch some of my favourite musicals and danced around the apartment like a maniac (the blinds were closed thank God!)

Little Shop of Horrors

Hairspray (the newest one). I love Zac Efron in this. Yes I know I'm old enough to know better. hehe

Bugsy Malone

Then I took my doggies for a walk then we all went for a well deserved nap.

As you can see they all love each other very much!

The 'quick nap' turned into 3 hours, oops. After a quick dash to the shops for pizza, foam sweets and PERCY PIGS I'm all set for the night!

A night out is long overdue with my best mate; I have not seen her for a while and we need to catch up so hopefully we can get back to our rightful places at 'OK Karaoke' fairly soon!

I hope everyone is having a good weekend so far and don't forgot a card for your pops tomorrow! Me and my Mum & Dad are going out for some lunch (my Sister can't come, she's in Gibralter for 6 months..lucky bugger!)

Lots of love,

Vxxx

Latest buys (on a budget)

Along with the Lee Stafford hair treatment I bought a few more things so here's a quick run down..

17 Shine Control loose powder

I needed a new powder and wanted something cheap and cheerful so I headed to the 17 stand at Boots. I love 17. The quality is really good to say the prices are soo cheap! Plus, because the powder was over £5 I got a freebie! It was sealed so I couldn't pick what I would get inside so I didn't expect much..
I was pleasantly surprised! I got a Lip Glaze in 'Bonjour Monsieur' which as you can see is a light pinky shade and it's lovely! I also got an Eye Dazzle in 'Fancy Free' which I haven't used yet as it's a bit glittery and more suited to a night out. And lastly, I got a Fast Finish Nail Polish in 'Ruby Dazzle'. It doesn't look like much in the bottle but on my nails it is gorge! I will take some piccies soon for my blog.

Barry M Liquid Eyeliner - black

I really wanted to like this but unfortunately..I don't :( The colour seemed watered down and even though I am quite a dab hand at doing liquid liner usually, I found that this made a right mess! It went EVERYWHERE! I am back to my faithful Mac Fluidline in Blacktrack for now.

Mango shower gel - Primark

Eyelash curlers - Primark

This shower gel is lovely! I didn't plan to buy one from Primark but I saw it and I needed a shower gel anyway so thought I'd give it a go! The smell is really strong, which I like, and it lathers up nicely. The eyelash curlers are fairly good, not great, but they will do until I get a decent pair and they were only £1.

Off Your Face - face wipes by Soap & Glory

I LOVE Soap & Glory products. The clever product names are great and even though they seem a bit gimmicky, they really do work! I have been using products from this range for a while and I'd happily buy one of everything if I could (ooh payday is coming up..there's an idea!) These wipes have quite a strong smell but they do a good job of getting my make-up off and they also claim to reduce the size of pores which can only be a good thing!!!

Hair envy

I would like long hair like this.. please.

I made some progress about six months ago. I had grown out a graduated bob and managed to get shoulder length hair all one length, but then I acquired some layers at the front. I didn't ask for them =/ I cried for a week, maybe 2. Sad but true.
.
I used to get permanent extensions by Great Lengths and they were beautiful.. but at £700 a pop for 4 months that was an expensive habit I couldn't keep.
.
When I heard about this product by Lee Stafford I had to have it. My boss said I have been sucked in by the name. She is right.

The name gives me hope that my shoulder length hair will have a sudden growth spurt and one day I will wake to find I look like this!

OK maybe not...

The label says to use an egg sized amount (I can't see the tub lasting long!) and it should be left on for 5 minutes between shampoo-ing and conditioning. I used it this morning with high hopes and I wasn't disappointed. It made my hair feel silky and strong, and once blow dried it seemed so much thicker and bouncier.

I'm going to use it every time I wash my hair and see if it carries on improving the condition. But thumbs up so far!

Has anyone else bought this?
