Clean & (not so) clear

For about a week or so my skin hasn't been so great. I have had a couple of breakouts and felt like my skin has looked and felt too oily and shiny. I love the Boots cold cream I have been using but thought perhaps it is a bit too thick/rich to use every morning and night so I decided to try something else.

I thought I would give Clean & Clear a go and decided on the 'deep action refreshing gel cleanser' as I liked the sound of getting really clean feeling skin!
.
2 days later my face feels like it has third-degree burns. There's an all over tightness similar to when I used Dermalogica and I have itchy, crusty patches all over my face but especially around my chin and cheeks.
.
What am I going to do!! :'(
.
I stopped using it as soon as I realised I was having some sort of reaction to it, but so far my skin doesn't seem to be improving and I'm scared that moisturising will irritate it even more!

I am going to my Cousins wedding on Saturday and I can't have a crusty face! *sob*

Has anyone else had any problems using this or other products in the range? I have only heard good things about it from other people!

Emma Watson

I came across these photos from the premiere for Harry Potter & The Half-Blood Prince and instantly thought how beautiful Emma Watson looks!

I know she gets a bit of bad press for being stuck-up but I think she always comes across as being lovely (did anyone see her interview with Jonathan Ross?) and I am in love with the dress she is wearing in these pics! I think it suits her perfectly and her make-up is stunning.

Honest Scrap tag

I have been tagged by Greta to do this (check out her blog here!)

You have to tell your readers ten things about you they may not know, but that are true. Then you have to tag 10 people with the award. Finally, let all the people you've given the award to know they've gotten it (comment on their blogs or something). Don't forget to link back to the person who awarded you.

1. I'm obsessed with the welfare of animals and insects. Any sort of animal cruelty upsets me and I won't kill a bug no matter how big or small. If I'm driving and there's a greenfly in my car, I have to pull over and free it into the grass.

2. Me and my boyfriend worked at the same architecture company (me as a secretary, him as an architects assistant) but we didn't speak or notice each other for 4 months then one day we got talking over the internet and a couple of weeks later he asked me out :) 3 days later we were both made redundant!

3. As you all know we have 3 dogs. Bf has had Geri for a year and a half, and we have had the 2 pugs since December last year. I have always loved pugs so when we heard the Dogs Trust had 2 we drove straight there, fell in love with them and adopted them! They had been handed in after their owner died and they had been mistreated by her. They were 18 months old and hadn't been house trained or walked on a lead so we had to start from scratch with them. It was tough but they picked everything up really well.

4. I'm constantly trying to lose a 'couple of pounds' but I'm just too lazy and love my food too much.

5. I have a very wide range of musical tastes. I particularly like The Drifters and saw them in concert in March (not the original line up obviously, but they have carried on the group with relatives). They were brill - I loved it!

6. I love anything to do with Harry Potter. I see all the first showings of the films (I once went to a midnight showing and was front of the queue, lol). I have got a Gryffindor t shirt that I wear to bed and I was recently in Orlando at Islands of Adventure and got unbelievably excited when I saw them building the new Harry Potter land!!

7. I have got low self confidence and whatever I do I feel I could have done better or done it differently.

8. I take photos of everything. On my last 2 week holiday I had 1500 photos to sort through. I love capturing the moment and I hate the thought of not having photographic evidence of important events!

9. I can't and won't make decisions.. ever. I just physically can't! Even if it's "what shall we have for tea?", I just can't give an answer!

10. One day when my bf is a qualified architect and he is earning lots of money I would love to go back to studying and find the right career. I would love to open a pug rescue centre and do something for the love of it rather than for money.

I'm going to tag 10 blogs that I like and that have 60 followers or less - go check them out!

Land of 'Soap & Glory'

This is one of my favourite brands so I'm going to have a mini rave about a couple of their products.

First up is the hand cream, Hand Food. I always keep a hand cream on my desk at work and in my handbag and I apply it religiously. I usually just buy the cheapest/the one on special offer/or the one I can afford to buy with my Boots points!

A couple of months back I bought a travel sized tube of Hand Food for around £2, just to give it a try. It claimed to be a "non-greasy hydrating hand cream with shea butter, macademia oil & marshmallow". I was sold. Anything with marshmallow in it gets my vote!

I loved this stuff straight away. The smell is divine! It reminds me of being on holiday (which can never be a bad thing), it sinks right in and doesn't leave any greasy residue behind. I ran out earlier this week and bought another, this time the full sized tube which was around £4.40 I think.

The great thing about Soap & Glory is that a lot of the products come in mini travel sized pots so for a couple of quid you can try something out and if you don't like it, it's not such a big deal!

Another Soap & Glory product I have been using regularly for a while is Fab Pore. It's a 15 minute facial peel which claims to reduce the appearance of pores. This does exactly what it says on the tin, so to speak! Every time I use it I'm left with visibly softer, smoother skin and I always see a visible difference to my pores.

This product has lasted me ages as you only need a grape sized amount (the pot is only around £5). The mask should be rubbed into the skin until all the little green beads have disappeared and then either left for 5 minutes (for a quick fix) or 15 minutes for a deeper clean.
.
I was pleasantly surprised by this product. I didn't expect to see or feel any difference but I did, even after the 1st use. I will definitely re-purchase this when it runs out!
.
Next on my list of things to try are the Flake Away body scrub and the Righteous Butter body butter! :)
