Emma Bridgewater

Someone introduced me to Emma Bridgewater products and now I'm hooked! The kitchen items are hand painted and there is a whole range of things for each design; my favourites are Black Toast, Birds and Nice Dream.

If money were no object I would kit my kitchen out with the Black Toast range but with my budget I had to start off by purchasing a mug. This mug to be exact:

The bottom of the mug reads "about you".

I also got my Mum this tea-towel for Crimbo - very appropriate for the lady who watches Casino Royale nearly every..single...weekend! Strictly for ornamental use methinks!

Also, it's worth looking through the outlet section of the website where some items that are less than perfect are sold with a discounted price. I got my mug from the outlet section and I can honestly say that there are no noticeable marks or mistakes and it looks exactly the same as the mug in the picture.

Have a look and let me know what you think! What's your favourite item?

Monday summary

Good weekend? Hope so. I am poorly. It was only a matter of time.. I managed to get through December and the Christmas break without catching a cold but alas, I couldn't avoid one forever! I'm hoping it wears off in time for me to attend the pub quiz tonight!

This week's 5 good things (I'm not going to lie, I have struggled this week to come up with 5 things. I have the January blues in full force!):

1) January means a new start and lots of resolutions to keep me feeling busy and occupied! I'm not bored of them yet and am generally feeling really positive about trying out new things. Click here to read my list!

2) A night out to look forward to on Saturday night.

3) I made a delicious soup at the weekend and the huge pan of it will be perfect for re-heating throughout the week, plus it was tasty and healthy! It has given me the urge to make more homemade soups and things - so quick and easy!

4) I have a zillion things I want to blog about - hope you don't mind me invading the blog reader every day! :) I'm still really enjoying the whole blogging world - it's a nice little escape from reality and is sort of therapeutic for me.

5) Plans to see Avatar and Sherlock Holmes at the cinema this week. I love seeing new films!

Also, if you have a question that you'd like to ask me anonymously then visit http://www.formspring.me/lilyloveslola and ask away!

Finally, a cute pic from my weheartit account...I want to sit at this desk and write stories all day. I would love to own this typewriter!

Perfect day

This is just a shout out to my wonderfully generous boyfriend. We agreed only one present this year but I ended up with 5! Each present was perfect. I just wanted to share them with you as I love seeing what other people received - I'm nosy like that! :)

I was allowed to open them on Christmas Eve due to having lots to do on Christmas Day morning - what a brilliant excuse! I only knew about the ring, and the scarf was supposed to be a treat after Christmas so as you can imagine I was really, really happy with my gifts!

Louis Vuitton scarf. It's really chunky wool and is perfect for the cold weather we're having!

Ring from jewellers (picked out by me)

Vivienne Westwood earrings

Vivienne Westwood necklace

Leather jewellery box

The jewellery box is really pretty and has loads of compartments for all of my rings and earrings and necklaces. I love it! I have always wanted a proper jewellery box and more storage for my jewellery so this is perfect! It has a little padlock too so I can make sure everything is kept safe.

Did your partner get you any surprises?

Review: Lush Honey Bee

I had a Christmas eve bath using the Lush Honey Bee bath bomb and I wanted to share my thoughts with you as I was a little disappointed.

Top marks for fizzing power and the smell was quite nice, but it didn't leave my skin feeling any different and at one point I thought the bath was going to be stained yellow!

I spent the whole time in the bath suspiciously eyeing up the yellow tinge round the top of the water. Luckily it didn't leave a mark - phew!
