Monday summary

Happy Monday! I hope your weekend was full of sunshine, biscuits and family time like mine was! As always the 2 days went by far too quick and it's back to work time again!

My 5 good things today are:

1) I have lots of things coming up to look forward to - the finale of Lost and having a 'Lost' party, Race for Life, 2 weeks off work and lots more gardening! See previous post.

2) Coming off Twitter and having more time to reply to comments and read through all the lovely blogs out there.

3) Finding dog training classes. I really want to take the dogs to obedience classes (as much as I like to pretend they're little angels, they can sometimes be the spawn of Satan). It would be nice to give them a little hobby and perhaps they could make friends!

4) Albums that I can listen to from start to finish. Paloma Faith springs to mind. Her album Do You Want The Truth Or Something Beautiful is one of my current favourites.

5) Searching Ebay for bargains. It really is full of weird and wonderful things, and every now and then you can find a real treasure!

What are your 5 good things?

Down at the bottom of the garden...

This morning I did a spot of gardening. The place we have moved into was empty for a couple of months beforehand so a few little weeds and sneaky things had appeared in the garden at the back of the house, and slowly but surely I'm getting rid of the pesky fellas.

So far I have bought a garden gnome and he stands proudly by the back door. I also got a little potted plant from Ikea yesterday and I hope to go to a proper garden centre at some point to get some more potted plants and maybe some herbs and things (not that I know what to do with them!) It looks much better already and with the sun shining this morning I have been excited for the Summer months ahead!

I love finding pictures of pretty gardens - even though I don't have the room (or money!) to recreate them it's still nice to look. Here are some pictures from my inspiration folder:

How perfect is this little house tucked into the trees. If only my garden was big enough!

Pretty, pretty stand & trinkets

Colourful lanterns and cute seating

I have got my eye on a 'shabby chic' style table and chairs from TK Maxx (that's if they have any left by payday!) but Dotcomgiftshop is usually my first stop for all things retro and fun.

I love the idea of having bunting hanging along my fence. I particularly like this vintage Union Jack style and the English Rose pattern.

I'd love this silly little Gardeners Kneeling Pad to rest my aching knees on. It might just remind the boyfriend to make me a brew more often! Oh.. and a biscuit too!
I can imagine on a Summers evening sitting on some floor cushions with friends, with some candles flickering and a cup of something tasty. I love the Elephant pattern and the tassles on these floor cushions.
I'd also love to get a bird house and was struggling to think of where to look. Then I remembered Etsy! Etsy is the one stop shop for all things unique and pretty and a search for "outdoor bird house" threw up a zillion cute ones. How adorable is this one:

I hope I have given you some outdoor inspiration!

LOST (literally!)

Is anyone else still watching Lost? I remember watching the first episode many years ago in my friend's front room with about 8 other people and we were all so excited about this new tv show that everybody was talking about. I think I'm the only one still watching!!

I don't watch much tv and I only watch a couple of tv shows religiously - Bones is another firm fave that springs to mind. But Lost has really captured my imagination and I'm hooked on the cliff hanger endings. Last night's episode, all about Jacob and how he ended up on the island, was one of my favourites so far.

Are you still watching or did you give up a long time ago? As it comes to an end, have you got any clue what is going to happen?

Townie bicycle - I love you

Dear Townie bicycle,

I want you very much so! Preferably in duck egg blue or pale pink. With a basket and a bell.

Thank you.

Turning over a new leaf (& plans for the future of my little space on the Internet)

Thank you to EVERYONE who took the time to comment on my last post. I appreciate all of my readers/subscribers or people who pop their head in occasionally, and most of you said such lovely things. I also got lots of constructive feedback which is great for me going forward. I realise I did sound a little bit ungrateful and I'm totally not - I remember having 3 people following my blog and I thought I'd done really well! This is still the case now even though I have a few more readers.

We all have down days - I guess yesterday was mine. Work is very hectic and it's a continuous learning process which means my mind is often frazzled by the time I get home. When I first started blogging I worked in a very quiet office where there wasn't much to do, which meant I would spend a lot of time blogging and replying to my comments and all that fun stuff. Add a new job in HR to moving house and having 3 dogs to be Mummy to, and this makes a very stressed Victoria!

I promise never to complain about lack of comments again. I don't just blog for comments. I blog because I want to share my thoughts and my life with other similar minded folk and I mistook lack of commenting for lack of reading, which I realise now totally isn't the case.

And finally, you're right - it's my blog! So if you don't like Pugs "clear off!" (just kidding). I shall continue with my random ramblings and variety of posts until you get fed up with me!

I have been thinking up lots of future posts this afternoon and I thought I'd give you a sneak peek at what's coming up on LilylovesLola:

- Photos from my trip to London (sightseeing pics!)
- Eyeko nail polishes (yes, more! sorry :))
- An update on the iPulse home hair removal machine *buzzzz buzzzz*
- Wavy hair of the day
- A guest post from my Sister
- Healthy food - my faves
- Photos of our new house
- My new little garden :)

Lots of love,
xx
