Wish list (Kitchen edition) featuring Next Home

As some of you may know I was invited to enter a writing contest for Next by picking a topic and writing a blog post about it, then asking you lovely people to click on the Facebook 'like' button if you liked it. Well, I won! Yay! I was really pleased because I love writing and I love Next so it was a really nice surprise.

Lucky old me won a Next voucher worth £100 that is sat in my purse itching to be spent. But I'm trying to be good and wait until I move into my new place so that I can treat myself to some interior goodies from Next Home. Most of the furniture in our current place won't be moving on with me so I'll certainly need a few shopping trips!

I have got my eye on a few of these lovely kitchen things:

I heart everything in this picture, especially:

Mixed pastel soda glasses - £8
Polka bread tin - £15
Vintage words - £10

Pastel recycling bags - £10

Home Sweet Home doormat - £8

Cook Book stand - £10

Kitchen hooks - £10

Have you got your eye on anything?

Eyeko: Saucy Polish

I must say I wasn't looking forward to trying Saucy Polish which was sent to me along with Rain Polish. Reds aren't usually my thing but as I'm always up for being a guinea pig I gave it a whirl. I was pleasantly surprised! It's actually a lot nicer on the nails than in the bottle.

The only downside to this particular polish, which I have not experienced with most of the others, is that it chipped pretty much straight away and continued to chip until it didn't look so pretty. So I removed it, and due to my lack of base coat (lazy nail painter) I was left with slightly red nails underneath.

But as reds go, this one is lovely!

Eyeko polishes are £3.50 and available from the website (don't forget to enter my code, E8761, at the checkout for a free gift!)

Monday summary

Happy Monday folks! Did you all have a good weekend? I had a relaxing weekend that mainly involved eating out and sleeping! On Saturday I went out for lunch and had a little drive, then spent the evening snuggled with Lily and Lola watching La Vie En Rose. On Sunday my Mum took me out for lunch, her treat, and I had a sneaky glass of wine which made me incredible sleepy so I proceeded to spend the afternoon snoozing! You can't beat wine, good food and snoozing on a Sunday surely!

My 5 good things:

1) Plans to go to the seaside! I've got my bucket and spade ready to head off for a day of fish and chips, ice cream, and let's face it, probably some rain!

2) We have been given a moving-out date so it's much easier to start hunting for our own places. By the end of September I should be living on my own and no doubt blowing up the kitchen with my amazing cooking skills! Next payday may well involve a trip to Ikea for pans, plates, cutlery, the whole lot!

3) Music by Edith Piaf. It's fair to say I'm currently obsessed!

4) Nail polish. I have been sporting a different colour on my nails every day lately. My current favourite is Eyeko's Posh Polish - perfect for work!

5) My Sister is home from Gibraltar soon for a week (before she jets off to Las Vegas, lucky thing!) so we're going to do lots of shopping and have dinner out as a family. Should be lovely!

P.S. Congrats to Sarah F, Sofia, Harpeet, TheKiwiBex and Lady Bug Says for winning my Vaseline Sheer Infusion giveaway! Check your emails :)

help: clear skin (Works with Water)

I didn't know anything like this existed until I was contacted asking if I would like to give them a whirl. A good foundation and a camera flash may make my skin look clear but actually, at times, it can be quite blemished especially when I'm feeling stressed or around the time of the month - you know how it is girls!

The product in question is help: clear skin by a company called Works with Water. They're the "UK's first company to pioneer a range of clinically proven, 100% natural, soluble food supplements that have a positive impact in acne treatment".

Interested? Look no further! I'm going to be a human guinea pig and test these out for myself. Starting tomorrow I will take 2 sachets of help: clear skin every day in a drink or with soft food (hot or cold) and I'll report back with the results.
What do they say about this product?
"help: clear skin contains Praventin which is a clinically proven bioactive protein, rich in lactoferrin, which has been shown to reduce the development of the bacteria responsible for many skin impurities, helping to prevent the formation of blemishes and spots due to its antimicrobial effects."

The sachets are suitable for vegetarians, diabetics and lactose intolerant people, and they're gluten free!

Enough of the science talk. What I want to know is, do they work? I will report back soon with an update to let you know how I'm getting on.
